How good Russell Westbrook is actually?

Russell Westbrook is known as one the best players in the NBA some people rank him as a top3 Point guard in the league but others say that he is overrated.So what is true about Russell Westbrook?

Lets start from the begining.

Russell Westbrook III was born on November 12, 1988, in Long Beach, California, and grew up in South Central Los Angeles. He learned to play basketball from his dad, a playground star who devised drills for Westbrook and younger brother Raynard to follow. Russell Sr. and mom Shannon Horton also made sure their two boys focused on academics, with Westbrook eventually becoming an honor student.

Westbrook attracted little attention as 5'8" freshman at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California, and the following year he endured a personal tragedy when teammate Khelcey Barrs died after a pickup game. Westbrook played his way into the starting lineup as a junior, and that summer he underwent a growth spurt that suddenly transformed him into a major college basketball prospect. As a senior, he averaged more than 25 points per game and dunked for the first time, and was recruited to play for Ben Howland at UCLA.

The athletic, explosive Westbrook helped UCLA reach the Final Four in both of his seasons at UCLA, earning all-conference Defensive Player of the Year honors as a sophomore. He was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft by the Seattle Supersonics, which officially became the Oklahoma City Thunder a few days later.

In his Rookie season Russ had 15.3 PPG 4.9 RPG 5.3 APG making the all Rookie team.In his second year he improved as he averaged 16.1 PPG 4.9 RPG 8.0 APG.But next season was his blow out season.He was named an all star averaging 21.9 PPG 4.6 RPG 8.2 APG in the next 5 season he would put up stats of

24.1 PPG 6.2 RPG 7.9 APG on 44.3 FG% and 30.9 3PT% he would make the all star team 4 times (he missed a lot of game during the 2013-2014 season due to knee inhury)He had some great playoff runs making the finals in 2012 but losing to Lebron in which seriers Russ was great having 27.0 PPG 6.4 RPG 6.6 APG on ok shooting spilts.

The next great Playoff run for Russ was in 2015-2016 when they blew a 3-1 lead to Golden state.Some people blame Russ and KD for the loss.And it's true because they could not close out the game.Russ put up again great number 26.7 PPG 7.0 RPG 11.3APG 3.7 SPG but on 39.5 FG% and 31.7 3PT% yeah....From the other hand KD had 30 PPG 8 RPG but he was shooting 42% from the field and 28.6% From 3....

They lost to Golden State and rumors were all over the place on where KD would land this offseason some people were saying he will stay in OKC other's siad "oh he is going to Boston" other's said "He is coming to L.A." But he ended up-as we all know- with Golden State yea the team that they almost beat...Russ was upset.

In the next season Russ would have one the greatest indivitual seasons ever.Averaging

31.6 PPG 10.7 RPG 10.4 APG taking home the MVP awardBut hey lost in the 1st round to James Harden and the Rockets.Russ had a weird seriers 37.4 PPG 11.6 RPG 10.8 APG including a 50 points triple double.But he was shooting 38.8 form the field 26.5 form the 3...He was taking 30-32 shots a game.I do not know how to rate this performance...

Long story short the OKC landed PG13 and singed Melo everybody was like"oh they will take down the warriors"and they lost in the 1st round.Russ still averaged a triple Double (25.4 PPG 10.1 RPG 10.3 APG)But nobody care.This season he is averaging a triple double and nobody cares..

So how good is Russell Westbrook actually?He is really good he is a guy that loves to win and he will do anything to achive it.He is an athletic Freak but he is really bad with shot selection pass selection off-Ball moviment and in general he is not that smart-when it comes on playing basketball-he is turning over the ball too much in his mvp season he had a lot of games with 10 or more TurnOvers.I would not ranked him in the top 3 Point Guard list some people tend to rank him even as the best Point Guard in the league.Which is clearly not i mean guys like Steph Curry,Damian Lillard,Kyrie Irving and this season maybe even Kyle Lowry(he is playing great he is playing smart he is better at passing shooting and defending than Russ)To me Russ currently he is not a top 3 Point Guard but a top 5 Point Guard in the league.Wich is not bad at all.I would be happy if i was top 5 guard in the NBA.
